With the help of the new Google Cloud Platform Service Broker, it’s simple to connect our Cloud Foundry applications to Google’s diverse set of services like Dialogflow, Speech-to-Text, Cloud Storage, and PubSub. Now with Knative, it’s also easier than ever to write and deploy functions to respond to any event you can think of.

In this presentation, we’ll demonstrate how we tie all these pieces together to create our own voice-activated home assistant that can understand and respond to us. We can have it play music, tell the time, or do just about anything else we can develop. Thanks to the flexibility of these platforms, we can easily and quickly add new functionality to our assistant with just a little bit of code. You’ll see the power that this combination of technologies can bring and just how effective and extensible event-driven architecture can be.
