The Product ask was to build a customer service virtual assistant accessible from existing mobile applications in 8 weeks. The Engineering ask was to build the basis of a digital first AI platform that can evolve to meet our emerging customer service needs. In the fall of 2017, Comcast pulled together a cross-functional team of software developers, product representatives, data scientists, and cloud experts. Building on the open source, cloud-native extensible services created by other Comcast engineering teams, they were able to deliver new capabilities on this new platform, in a multi-cloud way using Cloud Foundry, in record time. In this demo, I will discuss how we did it, do a live demonstration of how a customer uses our new Xfinity Assistant, and show what’s on the roadmap.
